On this moment, there is a trial in Belgium for the murder on Els Van Doren. The prime suspect is Els Clottemans. They were member of the same parachute club and they were in love with the same man, namely Marcel Van Hoven. Els Van Doren died after a skydiving jump, she didn’t succeed in opening her parachute. Afterwards, the investigators saw that the parachute has been sabotaged.
In Belgium, everybody knows about the parachute murder on Els Van Doren. But this case is also known abroad, even outside Europe. In Taiwan, the case is also big news. A media company made a 3D-movie about the jump out of the plane. In that movie you can see that Els Clottemans was cutting the ropes of the parachute from Els Van Doren. It looks like they are thinking that Els Clottemans is guilty to the murder on Els Van Doren.
There is almost no evidence that Els Clottemans has killed Els Van Doren. But when you look at this movie, you would really start to think that she is guilty. Therefore, I think it wasn’t a good idea to make this movie, because people will have a lot prejudices. The law still says that everybody is innocent until proven guilty.

The parachute murder is a very exciting case. Everybody knows about it and almost everyone has an opinion about it. A lot of people think that Els Clottemans is guilty and I can understand.She had a motive to kill Els Van Doren, they were namely in love with the same man, Marcel Van Hoven. I also think that Els Clottemans did it because she found the parachute of Els Van Dooren. On the trial, she doesn't show any sorrow. If I would be accused for something I didn't do I would be desperate and I think that I suddenly start crying on the trial. Els Clottemans stays calm, even when the children of Els van Doren came testify. On the other hand there is no evidence that Els Clottemans did cut the ropes of Els van Dooren her parachute, so it's very hard to accuse Els Clottemans.

If you ask me, I think that Els Clottemans is not guilty. I think it is very wrong of the Belgium court to decide if she is guilty or not with such a few evidence.
